"Those are my principles, and if you don't like them... well, I have others." Groucho Marx.

I'm a PhD researcher based at Birmingham City University. My work uses historical and on-going media representations of yoga to explore the cultural translation of yoga practices in the UK during the 20th century.

Previously, I've worked as a journalist and photographer where I contributed to publications including The Times, The Metro and The Sun, as well as websites such as Huffington Post, Gizmodo and Gizmag. I've been news-editor at an international press agency, an online news and technology consultant, and I started my own quirky news site, which was named as one of the Top 100 websites in the world by The Guardian in 2008.

In recent years, my work has focused on the fields of fitness and photography, and I have a particular interest in how emerging technologies and medias, are impacting those industries. In addition to news and commentary articles I have produced numerous features and photography how-to guides. Other interests include, coffee, video-games, running and yoga.
